I suppose I should pen a few words about the Charge of the 69. The hill was less steep than last year, the going should be smoother. Let’s see what happens in March next year.
For now, boredom mostly, as I try to make soulful use of the downtime. Strangely I can’t seem to relish it; leisure is painful. Maybe I’m just not ready to go down the path of The Big M?
Next year’s nominal roll’s already out; the charge gets smaller but the challenge no less easier. A weaker bunch this, I’m told. But somehow I’m immune, less anxious than this time last year.
Maybe I’m getting old.
