Eastern promise.....???

Well, bit of an update on the job front and I don’t want to curse it but HUZZAH, we may have a job.

On sunday night, American/Korean recruiter asked us if we were OK to go ahead with the interview on Monday morning at 3-4pm Korea time – which is 6am-7am GMT! We said it was OK though and were prepared for the agonising wake up at 5.30am.

A few emails were sent back and forth, re-arranging the interview time from 6am, to 7.30 – 8.30am. Still early, but not as horrendous.

So we waited, waited and waited and nervously waited some more. 8.15am and no call so we figured the worse, the school had found someone else. I was adamant that if it got to 8.30, I was going back to sleep.

8.28am RING RING.

I answered and spoke to the director, who was very nice and had excellent English, which made the whole thing go alot more smoothly than expected. He then spoke to Rich, who told him “I’ve seen your picture – you are very handsome man!” Damn right! He also said that he enjoyed speaking to us, he wanted to speed things up to get us out here and one of the teachers will give us a quick call tomorrow. Woohoo!

But I am refusing to get our hopes up yet. Spoke to the foreign teacher, Catherine, who was nice and she answered some questions for us.

So, we will see. We haven’t been contacted by the recruiter yet to see if we definitely have the job yet, but seeing as he lives in in USA, the school is in Korea and we are in the Uk, things do take a while.

So today we went shopping for a backpack for Rich and a coat for me. And hurrah we found them both.

Things are looking up. I just hope the contract is OK etc. Fingers crossed, for like the billionth time.

Rich is playing Oblivion – I promise he is not a uber-duber dweeb, Oblivion is a lonnnng game. I am going to set up another blog with my various rantings on this. You know, one of those self-indulgent pieces of crap.
