first I want to start out with this invention called the iPad? wow. they thought of something like a touch screen computer… wait didnt they already do this? oh yeah. they did. its called an iPhone or the iPod touch. old ideas just making them bigger. wow. This annoys me.
secondly I want to tlk abt my life. My boyfriend, troy, has a very good chance of getting this job at blockbuster video. now this is good for one part(that he’ll have money) but bad because they told him that if he got the job they would make him work 2/3 of the weekend. i’m hoping its friday and sunday, but if its friday and saturday, well… i’m never gonna have a chance to see him anymore. I don’t know what I would do without this man. I love him and I really don’t want to lose him.
Third and final thing on my agenda to talk about is my icons entry. I’m thinking abt making a totally diff blog for entries like that. I have a lot of diff icons and stuff that I love and I want to remember them always lol. well that’s about it for today.
Is what I found out this week. Wednesday I left the house to do some errands and got in my car and started it up…..but nothing happened. See when you don’t start up your car on a regular basis the battery slowly drains out. So I had to call a tow truck and then I had to drive the car for 20 minutes before I could shut it off and go do my errands. I decided to drive to the other side town so I could use up my twenty minutes. One errand was easy and I didn’t have to shut the car off so I did that one first. I had to mail the rent check and another item. All I had to do was drive up to the post office and drop them in the outside drive up boxes. So then I kept driving to my destination but my minutes weren’t up yet so I decided to turn around and go to the store I was going to go to in the first place. I kept checking the clock in the car as I was driving to make sure that I wouldn’t have to drive past the store I was headed to in order to use up my minutes. By the time I got to my original destination I had used up my minutes and a few more. When I parked and shut off the car I started it up again to make sure that when I left the store I wouldn’t have to call the tow truck again. Lucky for me I have them programmed into my cell phone.
So I have a choice for the future. I can go out to my car every other day and run it for 20 minutes or I can buy the thing the tow guy used to start my car. I know I can buy one for $50 or there abouts, which is what I paid the tow guy. So I can start surfing the Internet for prices and then go buy one.
I have been very busy this week taking a class online for a product that is going to be sold soon. I spent all my spare time doing that. It is a seasonal product but the next time it comes up I will only have to do the refresher and that won’t take so long. I took donation calls for the Haiti earthquake. Boy, the George Clooney thing went all over the world. I know this because that is where some of my calls came from. Ecuador, Ireland and so on and so forth.
We are all going to be pleasantly surprised at the new tax credits. But those who have already done their taxes already know about the new credits. I have yet to receive three more documents before I can do mine. All of them will be postmarked February 1 unfortunately for me. I am gung-ho and want to find out if I am really going to get something back or if I have to pay again.
I finally figured out how to stop getting text messages. Text messages on my phone plan are about $10 a pop if you delete them. Doesn’t matter that you didn’t even read them. So the next phone bill I get will be the last one I will have to pay for text messages. I went online to my cell phone company and tried to find how to block all text messages. The search turned up several alternatives. They are all bunched together so you have to read them and decide which one is going to do the trick. So guess what I had to do to get the text messages to stop. Yup I had to send a text message to get them to stop. It was quick easy and painless and I got a message back almost immediately confirming my request. So I can relax knowing that I will no longer get any more text messages.
First post here, not much in the brain pan right now, It’s 2 am right now and i’m just chilling out before bed. I don’t tend to sleep well if I’ve got too much on my mind.
Days notes:
Started search for second job, I love my job but, (good pay) + (zero hours) doesn’t equal money in the bank. Also, I’m going to need more income if i ever want to move out of here. Rent is great, but room mates are all kinds of crazy and i can’t keep my own hours with thin walls and people sleeping on couches.
It finally got cold enough to relight the fireplace, which is awesome because i have the basement “room” and the extra warmth is more than welcome in the winter months. Midwest gets cold in January.
Second semester started a few days ago which is a welcome distraction from the snow drifts and icy roads. Let me just say, cabin fever is real and it sucks.
Worked out a few campaign setting ideas today too, but our last campaign was a suck fest and everyone just wants to PLAY now, no one wants to run the game (including myself).
Well that pretty much does it for me. I have to get up early to do, something, don’t remember what anymore. So that’s the start of things and we’ll see how far i can run it.
Last Friday was supposed to be my first anal night. I was told by the owner that punters would be charged more for their entry and I would be paid more. I remember the figure £200 being thrown about. I was excited if not rather nervous about this night. I’d only lost my anal-ginity a week previous. I had 2 weeks to practice! I was quite excited by the challenge though, of learning to take something I’d once never been able to bear the pain on, and make it look sexy!
I’d worked out that basically, other than a lot of lube and poppers, all I needed was the first guy to let ME be in control. As long as I back myself onto his cock rather than him ramming it into me, once I’ve taken the full length he can ride me like a pony! So I was all set for the night, with make-up for the bukkake shoot as well as poppers for the anal finale.
However when I got to the club I signed into the forum as I often do. I then found out that the anal night had been cancelled. Talking to the manager, the bukkake shoot was also off unless the owner arrived pretty pronto. I was a little relieved, but I’d worked myself up to it so much I was also disappointed.
My main problem came at the end when I was handed my cash. I asked if that was £200 and was told, ‘no, why?’ I explained that as far as I’d known I was getting £200 that night and since I’d not been told differently I didn’t expect any different. I was told that that was the fault of the owner and that I should take it up with him. They didn’t know that it was his plan to pay me more, and they claimed that they hadn’t made enough to pay me more. They did say I’d get my extra £50 even if it was out of the owner’s own pocket. I said that was fine and sorry for kicking up a fuss.
I’ve not worked this week but am at the club next week and twice in the following week. I hope to see the owner to clear this up some time before my holiday at Valentines. I need that money, I really do.
The first weekend after I lost my job I didn’t want to deal with any of the mess I had to deal with. It was Halloween (my favorite holiday) so I tried to have fun anyway. So Monday morning hit and I wanted to get right on to all the paperwork that needed to be filed. It was so weird going into my old office. I felt like I had to be “fake nice” with all my former co-workers but truthfully I just looked around at them hating them. I wondered what they were thinking “will I be next?” Of course every Monday morning there is a meeting to discuss the business and where it’s going. My boss mentioned that a group had been laid off and of course everyone freaked. They asked if they should prepare their resumes and, of course, he said no. My advice to anyone that is currently working in a company that just did lay offs. DON’T BE STUPID! See the writing on the wall and get your resume together and portfolio prepared. I was reassured many times my job was safe and low and behold I was blindsided and laid off without warning.
Anyway, back to the paperwork, so really it was a fairly simple form. I really didn’t realize that it would be so simple just to file for unemployment. A couple simple steps and I was officially a government case. I found it really awesome that so much could be done online. No office visits or phone calls. Theoretically I wonder if you could make someone up and just start claiming unemployment.
So when I lost my job my boss said that he thought that my unemployment would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 90% of my salary. HA big mistake, try 70%. Now you may be saying that is a lot but when you really break it down that is not much at all. I started factoring in all my expenses, $600 for rent and $825 for school loans are my significant costs every month. That doesn’t count electric, car costs, or groceries. So my $1288 per month for sure wouldn’t cover that. I had to do the unthinkable and ask my parents for a loan for my loan! Thankfully they have a lot of savings and are able to help me out for the moment. I was thinking to myself as I was crunching these numbers what would anyone do if they didn’t have someone to bail them out!? I don’t have a family, house or anything (I mean besides one cat) but if I did really I don’t know how I would get through this. I know thousands of people all over the country are doing this but wow it would be so hard.
One thing that my boss omitted from me when I lost my job is that he canceled my insurance the DAY after I lost my job. I had a dentist appointment scheduled for that week actually and thank god I didn’t go. Yet another reason my former boss really sucked. If you are going to blind side someone by laying them off without severance or an additional paycheck why cut off their health care right away as well! I didn’t have the time or resources to get something else set up. Another dick move but thank god I don’t have a lot of health problems. I had worked for him three months without any kind of health coverage so it would stand to reason that the health coverage would continue three months after you left that job. I am not sure of the legality issues here but seems a bit sneaky. I checked into what other options were for health care and it was horrible! $300 a month for the shittest service ever. I actually just heard that there is a lot of government aid available directly through hospitals. You can check into financial counseling at your nearest hospital and see if they can help you out. One of my friends mentioned having some huge back surgery and being in the hospital for 4 weeks. His bill was $800,000 and he didn’t pay a penny! The hospital took care of it. Look into it!
Setting up unemployment seemed to be the simple step, I didn’t realize that really there was a lot that wasn’t mentioned in the beginning that I had to learn the hard way.
